Notes and News:
We welcome Canon Peter Johnson and Philippa Johnson among us!
Our Haiti project has been well supported so far - thank you to all givers! Have a look at the informative display at church, and donate through the collection basket or the envelopes provided. Next collection at the service: February 26.
Some of our fund-raising has come from the sale of our anniversary items (still available at church) and Pat Benbow's delicious homemade jams, as well as the successful book sale in November.
Church cleaning: this is planned for Saturday February 11 and Saturday April 21 from 2 p.m. Please let Michelle Prelle or Margaret Busby know if you can join the team.
As well as giving money, many are generous with their time and talents, helping to shape our church as a place of worship and welcome, Christian growth and mission. The season of Lent could be a good time to reflect on your part in our church life and whether you can contribute in a new way. A Lent, Holy Week and Easter programme will be available soon.
Recommended: our former member Revd Dr Charlotte Methuen, now at Glasgow University and Canon Theolgian of Gloucester Cathedral, has just published 'Luther and Calvin: Two Religious Revolutionaries'. Very readable and informative!
For our prayers: Peter and Philippa Johnson - our Confirmation and Reception candidates, and Bishop David visiting us - Heinz Gladbach, Cheryl and all the family - parents and grandparents who are frail and anxious - Gill and Thomas and their twin daughters Amelie and Sophie - Revd Tony Noble coming to be our Lent and Easter chaplain.
